Meeting with Absolute Poker's Holdem poker Room Manager Gian Perroni

We where lucky enough to secure a quick Q&A with Absolute Poker's Gian Perroni who provides few insights into the entire world of online poker areas. He provided some great, entertaining answers and we all thank him for their time.

COP - What will be your history with poker and the Internet?

Gian - My background is at marketing. I owned and operated an immediate mail company in the actual 90's that specialized in publications and postal distribution, and in 1997 I started utilizing Sportsbook. com and several of their other properties, producing and fulfilling CDs and other marketing materials. From that introduction I started to specialize in providing marketing services to a wide range of online gaming companies, including Absolute Poker prior to their launch.

COP - How long were you with AP now?

Gian - I moved from Canada to Costa Rica as well as joined Absolute Poker full-time with July 2003 and has been the 7th person to get involved, (we now possess over 130).

COP - And what changes perhaps you have seen with both this company and the industry as time?

Gian - The timing was perfect for Absolute Poker. At the time we launched there are less than 10 serious players in the industry, and we quickly established ourselves among the top sites. The industry went through incredible growth around a year . 5, and then leveled off a little for about 4 several weeks. It has now resumed its' fast growth which is stronger than ever. While there are now well over 300 sites, there are still under 20 solid sites, but easily thousands of times the players as there were when we launched.

COP - Do an individual yourself play poker?

Gian - Absolutely! I started playing within grade 7 with a small grouping of friends, mostly 5 card sketch, and a crazy sport we called in-between, (now known as Red Dog from the casinos).

COP - What will be your favorite game to enjoy?

Gian - I am a type of crazy players that enjoys the split games : especially Omaha H/L which has a kill *smiles*

COP - And on the net?

Gian - Multiple SitNGos in Omaha H/L are the best, but I am likewise into PL Omaha associated with any type.

COP - I assume you can not play at AP so how do you play and also why?

Gian - Shhhhh. Stars and Party generally - Stars has excellent software, and both have plenty of players to keep the particular games going.

COP - Have you attended the big poker events if so which ones?

Gian - I spent a substantial amount of time at the WSOP in 2010, and have also been to the Ultimate Poker Problem, WPT Bellagio, and the US Texas holdem Championship. This year I will be attending a couple of a month representing AP as well as hosting hospitality suites for the players.

COP - Which was your favorite?

Gian - Nothing beats the entire energy at the WSOP - total craziness!

COP - Did you are free to meet any of the good qualities?

Gian - I have got met many, including legends like TJ Cloutier.

COP - Who impressed you by far the most?

Gian - While I may seem biased, I really enjoy watching our very own pro, and my good pal, Mark Seif play. He has a "take no prisoners" style that is certainly both exciting, and nerve-wrecking at the same time.

COP - Which games obtain the most action in ones poker rooms?

Gian - Definitely Hold em, especially in the $3/6 in order to $5/10 range.

COP - Have people seen any significant changes in the sortt of games persons play since opening if so what would anyone attribute that to?

Gian - We are generally seeing more players in the non-Holdem games over time period, and I believe that this is primarily due to players becoming more comfortable with the game, and wanting to increase their experience, and skill level.

COP - What can you feel separates AP from all of those other online poker rooms?

Gian - Great campaigns, especially with our redeposit bonuses, and more FreeRolls than another site are definitely appealing. Our personalized icons are actually only used by Megastars and ourselves, and players love these individuals. We have a reputation for excellent back-up and support, and for quick withdrawals, both of which add confidence to your players.

COP - Can you see any room for innervations for online poker rooms?

Gian - We have a very few new innovations coming which will enhance the player's practical knowledge, but as far as changes for the way poker is treated, that won't happen. The 6 or 7 main poker variations will all stay exactly the same.

COP - What ideas does AP have money for hard times?

Gian - We are increasing the volume of tables you'll be able to play at together, and will be increasing how many players that can enroll in tourneys. Heads-up single and multi tourneys are launching right away, and we have just released our new re-playable hands histories. Watch for new tourney lobbies, and a change via 6 player tables in order to 5 player.

COP - any last remakes you would like to make about AP?

Gian - Only which i joined this company because I saw several grouped young, bright guys that were putting together a poker company that could be run with the best moral and ethical expectations. My instincts were appropriate, and I have not regretted the move for a moment. Working with AP can be exciting, and we will remain among the top sites in the business.

COP - Finally with a lighter note, who would win in fight, Phil Helmuth or Annie Duke?

Gian - Annie absolutely - both at the table and inside the ring *big grin*.
